Tunisian court seeks arrest of Djerba petrol bombers

 It looks like the authorities are determined to take seriously anti-Jewish incidents on the island of Djerba, in which petrol bombs were thrown at a synagogue and school during three nights of rioting.

An investigating judge at the Medenine Court of First Instance in Tunisia has issued an arrest warrant for five suspects involved in the burning of a place of worship in Djerba, a legal source told Tunisie Numerique last week.
 
A Jewish place of worship, located in the district of Houmet Souk in Djerba, was burned by five people during night protests that erupted in several parts of the country.

The investigations were able to apprehend the suspects, whose act is motivated neither by religious considerations nor terrorists, according to security officials.

There are about 1,000 Jews still living on the island of Djerba.
